Training Plans
Training plans let trainers build structured, multi-day workout programmes and send them directly to members. Plans can be created manually or generated in seconds with AI.
Creating a Training Plan
Training plans are created per member by staff with trainer access or above:
- Go to Members and open a member's profile
- Click Training Plans → New Training Plan
- Add a title, optional description, and any notes for the member
- Build out one or more training days, each with exercises, sets, reps, weight, rest, and coaching notes
- Save as a draft to review before sending
Adding Exercises
Each day in a plan contains a list of exercises (activities):
- Search the exercise library by name — results show the category alongside the name
- If no match is found, type any name and choose Use as custom exercise
- Per exercise you can specify sets, reps, duration (seconds), weight (kg or lbs), rest (seconds), and coaching notes
- Exercises and days can be reordered with the up/down arrows and removed with the delete button
AI Plan Generation
When an AI key is configured on your account, a Generate with AI panel appears on the plan creation page. This lets you produce a complete draft plan from a short description:
- Click Generate to expand the panel
- Describe the programme in the text box (e.g. 3-day push/pull/legs split focused on hypertrophy)
- Choose the number of training days (1–7), available equipment, and experience level
- Click Generate Plan — the AI will fill in the title, description, days, and exercises automatically
- Review and adjust the populated form before saving
Health flags: If the member has any flagged PAR-Q responses, the AI is made aware of them and will account for them when generating exercises.
Review before sending: AI-generated plans are a starting point. Always review the exercises and loads against your knowledge of the member before sending.
Plan Statuses
A plan moves through the following statuses:
- Draft — saved but not yet sent to the member. Can still be edited.
- Sent — delivered to the member via email. The member can view it in their account.
- Active — the member's current programme.
- Archived — no longer in use.
Sending a Plan to a Member
Once you're happy with a draft plan:
- Open the plan and click Send to Member
- The member receives an email notification and can view the full plan in their account
- Draft plans can be edited before sending; sent plans cannot be modified
Access & Permissions
- Creating and sending training plans requires Trainer access or above
- Members can view their sent plans but cannot edit them
- Plans are always scoped to your organisation — trainers from another gym cannot see your members' plans
